What to do if you have a plumbing emergency...
The most common types of plumbing emergencies have some steps you can take to potentially minimise the damage.
1. Shut the water off
In almost all plumbing emergencies, the first thing you need to do is stop water from continuing to flow. Know where to shut the mains water supply off, and also where the shutoffs are for individual fixtures or appliances in your home.
2. Turn your water heater off
If your water heater is gas you need to turn the gas to the heater off or turn the unit itself off if you have turned the water mains off.
3. Stop up any leaks if you can
Use towels or buckets to stop any residual leaking from doing any damage.
4. Call us on 022 638 5704
Give as much information as you can about what fixtures are affected and what you have done to alleviate the problem.
