Free Tips to Avoid Blockages

Hair loves to wrap around things and cause a nasty bulk in your pipes which then gets added to over time as detritus floats along. By removing the hair from the drain plug or installing a trap you are more likely not to have a problem.

Flush basin and bath/showers with hot water and detergent every few months or so to remove soap and oil residues that grow over time.

Do not dispose of cooking oil into your drains it tends to get cold and solid as it travels and clings to hair (see above) and other debris it finds along the way.

Check your downpipes and gutters twice a year to make sure all is functioning well and is not blocked, installing a leaf barrier is an excellent idea and also washing through hot water and detergent as with the internal pipework.
